Metro Manila Traffic Results to an Economic Loss of $ 18 Billion

2:11 AM

The $18 Billion annual economic loss because of the Metro Manila traffic is too much. This data is from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

It is safe to forecast that this economic loss will balloon, as we see no solution to end the Metro Manila traffic problem.

Stop the Increasing Number of Cars Plying Metro Manila

If we cannot increase or widen our roads, we must stop the increasing number of cars in Metro Manila.

The implementation of the luxury tax is not enough. We cannot prevent the rich and middle class from buying additional cars. The car manufacturer will find a way to create a marketing promotion that will make buying cars, despite the high prices, attractive.

By stopping the number of cars plying in Metro Manila, I mean putting a cap on the number of cars that should be roaming around the roads.

More Mass Transportation means more MRTs

The train system like MRT is the solution to this Metro Manila traffic. A lot of experts mentioned this solution, but we lack the implementation of this solution.

Skyways will never solve the problem, especially, if the number of cars will continue to increase. Eventually, the increased will clog these skyways.

Metro Manila Traffic Results to an Economic Loss of $ 18 Billion

This economic loss is huge. This money can fund a lot of basic services needed by our society.

I hope sooner than later the Government or a private initiative, or a combination of these two pillars of our society will be passionate in solving and ending the Metro Manila Traffic.
