All of us have that feeling of wanting to find ourselves, Laura depicted this urge inside all of us. In the end, she realized that where she left is where she must come back.

In the deepest part of my soul, a spot was awakened. Laura is a symbol that we can all relate in one period of our lives. We all wanted to be free. We all wanted to stretch the limits of our capacity - alone.

I admired Abi. She chose to stay in Siargao despite the pain of losing the one she loves. I don't know if such characters still exist. Most often, I always witness people leaving a place they love in exchange for instant gratification, fear of pain, and materialism.

But if ever there are characters like Abi in the midst of our society, I salute them.

Of course, at the end of the movie ( spoiler alert) she got her reward - the heart of the one she loves. If only this is a predictable ending,  when everytime we stay to where our heart desires, we ended victorious, then maybe, the world will be a better place.

The narrative of Diego - a province guy who tried his luck in the urban jungle to pursue his dream, and ended living a tumultuous and complicated life in the city. He realized the rewards of achieving his dreams are not enough, lacking in terms of having a deeper and spiritual satisfaction.

Are we not all like Diego? 

Most of the time, I think that we are all living the rat race, getting the material rewards that we are trying to achieve, but in the process, running away from the peace we hunger to have.

However,  we can always correct our mistakes. We can find our center and decide to regain our balance. Diego did just that. He found his center by correcting his mistakes. In the end, he got what is more important - Love.

Siargao is calling. Not only the movie but the real place. All lot of beautiful things are already said about Siargao. For me, and for a lot of us who not yet experience Siargao, it is time to yield to the call of her waves and commune with this island a lot of people are raving about, not only because of the waves, but because of the peace and simplicity that it can offer to tired and restless urban souls.
